When putting your money on a country like India by hiring outsourcing companies to do a particular task, job or project for you, it helps to learn a bit about the local economy. This is because the economy would have an impact with the way that IT outsourcing companies run their business.

So is the economy of India conducive to outsourcing your IT, engineering or customer service needs to the country? Here are a few quick facts about its economy for 2005-2006 to give you an idea:

  • The GDP of India grew by 7.4% during the first quarter and 6.6% by the second quarter. This is up from 5.3% and 8.6% figures that were recorded for the first and second quarters of the previous year, respectively.
  • For 2005 to 2006, the prospect of agricultural production in India is considered to be reasonably bright
