SELECTED EXPERIENCE
Baldinw County Floodplain Studies, Alabama (with Dewberry)
Acted as a technical lead/task manager to develop floodplain studies and delineation for 125+ miles of streams using detailed hydrologic and hydraulic methods. The work included survey layout, survey integration, terrain processing, HEC-HMS modeling for 55+ square miles basin, HEC-RAS modeling for 125+ miles and 45 structures, floodplain and floodway mapping, workmaps and TSDN developments.
Cooper River, Camden County, NJ (with Dewberry)
Developed detailed hydraulic analysis for 22 miles of Cooper River in highly urbanized area of the state of NJ. The work included integration of HEC-RAS model from several sources (HEC-2, HEC-RAS, Survey) to generate a one model through different communities.
Rio De Manati River, PR (with Dewberry)
Developed detailed hydraulic gage analysis for the Rio De Manatie River in Petro Rico.
GIS Mapping, LA and TX (with Dewberry)
Part of a team to generate workmaps identifying candidate streams for high water marks survey within 100+ Counties in TX and LA after hurricane Katrina and Rita.
Baltimore County Zone A development, Maryland
Developed hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for 350+ miles of Zone A stream in Baltimore County, MD. This project was done in 2006 prior development of GeoFirm Tools.
Ashby ponds - Erickson retirement communities, Loudoun County, VA
Designed an overall plan for storm water management for high density residential 125+ acres project and a one mile four lane Gloucester Parkway to meet the storm water management and best management practice criteria for the State of Virginia.
C.D. Smith property, Loudoun County, VA
Designed an overall plan for storm water management for the residential 120+ acres project. The stormwater management plan included the design of five ponds.
Site plans for Two water Towers for the Town of Leesburg, Virginia, Capital improvement projects
Developed site plans for the construction of two water towers. The site plans included erosion and sediment control, storm water management, zoning compliance, grading, and construction details.
Inova hospital & route 50 improvement- Loudoun County, VA
Designed an overall plan for storm water management for the proposed construction of INOVA Hospital and Route 50 (Major VDOT Road) widening. The design included building a two cell pond with a connecting culvert. The pond was planned to be constructed on two phases.
Plan reviewer and code enforcement, County of loudoun, Virginia
Engineer responsible to ensure the compliance of land development applications with the County, State, and Federal drainage regulations. Also reviewed floodplain alteration applications (Pre-LOMR). Amro also was part of a team responsible on implementing the NFIP regulations on the local government level.
Experiences outside the US
Salam Canal Irrigation Project, Northern Sinai, Egypt.
Water Resources Engineer responsible on generation construction plans and profiles for 25 under pressure irrigation networks for 1.2 million acres of land on Northern Sinai Desert Reclamation Project. Length of pipes profiled totaled 180 Kilometers (112 miles). Pipe sizes ranged up to 1200 millimeters (48 inches).
